First step you need to take is get a hold of a pen. You will need to take off the tip of the pen, and save the tip and the end cap. Now the next thing you need to do is measure the internal diameter of the pen.
Now go and get a rod magnet that is just a little thinner than the inside diameter of the pen. Now place the magnet within the pen and place the end cap and tip back in it.
Now the next thing you need to do is get some glue and use it to hold the pen together. You will then take the pen shaft and tape the magnet wire to one end. Make sure you leave at least 4 inches of extra wire. Now take the pen and coil the wire around the pen until it reaches the opposite side.
The next thing you'll do is wrap the coil on the cap and then cut the extra wire loose. This should leave you with about 4 inches free on the opposite side.
Now you'll just need to scrape both ends of the magnetic wire with a knife. Doing this will peel off the coating. Now twist one end of the wire around each end of a small light bulb. When you shake the generator the light bulb should flicker.
